A light at the end of the tunnel . . .

Well, I can see that little light at the end of the tunnel. 3 more classes of anatomy and I am done with that, then on to microbiology. Lots of us are making that migration so it will be nice to have about 5 people that I know in that class.

Caleb and I have been playing catch a lot lately so he can practice, and because I really enjoy it. The weather has been so nice here I just leave the doors and windows open all day and the dogs and kids come and go as they please (to the fenced in back yard, not the street!) I love this time of year.

Am signing Caleb up for summer school. I always thought it was horrible of parents to do that, but Caleb will be bored out of his skull if he doesn't have something scheduled to do with his peers for at least a little while this summer.

My baby will be 3 years old in less than 4 months. That is really depressing, but I am starting to look forward to doing more active things with the kids 'cuz they can both keep up better and they both get such a kick out of doing things (especially outside).

Lee starts setting our doors tomorrow. Someone looked at our spec house very seriously today and we are hoping they put an offer down NOW. Lee has lots of work coming up, so that has been turning around for us. It allows me to enjoy working with him a little more since I am in charge of the financial reports and stuff.

After this house is built I am so ready to start investing. I can't wait. I feel really old to have not started it yet, but better late than never, right?

Rear Elevation and stuff

So, this is the back of our house. See, I told you. COOL isn't it? I LOVE LOVE LOVE all the windows in the house, but of course, I wish there were still more. There is a deck in the middle that you can enter from the master bedroom or the kitchen. The screened in porch is on the right side, which walks straight out from the kitchen.

So, these walls have only been primed. The walls will be a dark purpely color when it's all over with and the kitchen will be a very light gray. This is the see=through fireplace from the great room.

Fireplace from the kitchen side. I love this bamboo! It's really dusty right now, but I will get a picture of it up when it is all cleaned up and shiny!

This is a tiny bit of my screened in porch.

Back to my studies!

'Sup?

Not much goin' on today. Worked a little. Got reflexology done. Have to study tonight for my test and quiz monday. Collin is already asleep (since 6pm) 'cuz he played outside almost all day while with the sitter.

Our guys put decking on our decks. Lee is hanging doors tonight (there are only 13). Trim will be delivered tuesday, then the painters will get their first coat on it. Lee bought all the wood for the fireplace last night. Cabinets will be in May 9th. Then we set them, then they come to a template for our quartz countertops.

Emmy came home today. She had been at Dad's since the vet where she was spayed. (sp?) Josie is happy to have her home. Zoe still hates the both of them and wish just she and I still lived together :) It's a wonder she still speaks to me, isn't it?

Good Mail from a Good Friend

Just wanna say thanks to my friend Amanda for her very thoughtful and cute gifts. I really love the ducky nurse. The pinks are great, heaven knows I can't get enough pinks in a house full of boys. Now I have a pen that Lee and Caleb won't try to "borrow" anymore either.

Update on our house . . . . . . .

So, there hasn't been much going on at our house lately 'cuz we have to have time for Lee to be able to work on it, since we are trying to save money. We are at the point though where we have to consider how much interest we'll pay waiting on him versus paying our crew to do it. I'll get back to you on that one.

Well, here is the front elevation, the back looks awesome 'cuz it's 3 stories with lots of windows, but I didn't get a shot of that today. If you look somewhat closely you can see Lee still needs to finish the stone on the front and then morter it. The driveway, walkway, and sidewalk come next week, with landscaping quickly to follow.

Our bamboo floors arrived yesterday and they are GORGEOUS. Wish I had more cool stuff to show you, there's just still SO much to do. Lee has to put the wood on the fireplace, the stone on the staircase, the stone in the master bathroom, etc etc. The pictures will just keep getting cooler!

Last Weekend

Cody and I celebrated our birthdays together this last weekend. We had a bbq with family and we got to sit out in the warm sun for a change! The cake was delicous of course, just like Hyvee always makes it!

Caleb went for a ride on Grandma's new riding mower, so of course Collin had to have a ride. He is squinting from the sun in this picture, but he really loved the ride.

Lisa, Tyler, Caleb, Collin and I went out on their lake. Collin decided he needed to paddle even though the boat had a motor.

Here I am trying to snuggle him for a picture and he is more worried about the water and the duckies that he sees. Kids!

Collin shoved as much cake in as possible. He started by picking it up with both hands, but we finally got him to use a fork. He definetely takes after my side of the family when it comes to sugar!

Caleb was happy to just get ice cream with the hard crackle topping. Lucky for him, he's not much of a cake eater. He had a great day, though between ice cream and riding the boat out on the lake.

ugh

So in one day I got one year older. That was yesterday, of course. Still worked, still went to class, everything as usual. However, I did get to go out for cajun food and I got a massage today! An hour and a half. Man, did I need that. Of course, my new goals at 32 are not altogether different from my goals and 31, with the exception of adding a nursing degree to my list of things to do. I am quite happy right now, with 2 beautiful healthy little boys and lots of wonderful friends. Well, the laundry calls my name as it has since last friday, guess I should pay it a visit. More Later. Love y'all

Easter Sunday

You might be a Missourian if:

A) You have to wear sockhats and gloves on Easter
B) It is warmer on Christmas Day than Easter
C) The Easter Bunny leaves you frozen eggs
D) All of the above

YES, it was REALLY Cold!! Just once I would like Easter to be warm enough to wear short sleeves. We had a lot of fun, though, frozen fingers and all. Hope you did, too!

Flooring

Today we solidified our flooring!!! Carmalized Bamboo on the floor in the great room, powder bath, kitchen, pantry, mud room, laundry room. Light gray tile on the MB floor, and the boys bathroom floor. On the kitchen backsplash, we have 3*6 gray tile with a black glass piece 1*1 in the center. Sort of like a boxy pinwheel. I can't remember the name of the carpet, but it is a frise, sp? Paint will be done by thursday, then Lee and I will bw crazy busy with laying the flooring.

In laws come in tomorrow. Ugh! I think I am going to be busy for 10 days.

My Josie is still not eating. Will get her some baby food tonight. Hope it's nothing serious.

I am eating my favorite easter candy right now. Cadbury solid milk chocolate mini eggs.

See ya!

A list of what was accomplished

So, in one of my relief society sessions, one of my older friends says she kept a list not of what needed to be done, but what was done. So that at the end of the day, you felt like you had made some accomplishments, whether an onlooker could see them or not.

Tuesday is "clean the house day", AND my landlord was having the property appraised this morning so I wanted to clean to not embarass myself even thought he said appraisals don't consider how clean things are. But, you know how it is. I actually got the entire house clean today. I tried something new. Vacuum all the floors first. This means throwing away trash, picking up laundry, etc. So, the house looked maintained.

I ran the washing machine all day. Dumped the clean laundry on my bed and just kept doing load after load. Cleaned the bathrooms, arranged the toys, arranged my room to a certain extent, then the bathrooms. Yuck! But it has to be done. By about 3pm I had all the laundry in the house washed and dried. Folded most of it before Lee got home, then he helped me finish folding and putting away.

I thawed ribeye and grilled it for dinner with peas and teriyaki rice and deviled eggs. (what we had in the house, 'cuz the one thing I didn't get done today was grocery shopping.) So, today was a good day. Pretty not stressful, just busywork.

I needed to study for my Anatomy lab practical, but I am too tired, so I will study tomorrow afternoon, it will all be review anyway.

My dog is sick. She's 6 years old. Hasn't eaten since the night before last. I put a call in to the vet and they told me to give her baby food, turkey and other proteins. If that doesn't work, I have to take her in. Let's hope that works. My other puppy is getting spade this week. Weird week for my pets. I love them very much, though, and they make life quite happier.

Hillbilly Heaven

So, the most fun the boys had at Grandma's this weekend was clearly in the muddle puddle in the driveway. First they threw rocks in it, then they got closer and closer to it till they were in it. They would have played there till dark, but I just had to take them in for a bath. (I can only take so much dirty).
It has been so nice to relax up here. I have been able to sleep in every day. It's ruining me. Went to dinner last night with my Dad and some of his friends. Went to Chillicothe yesterday (about 5 of us) and got a new riding lawn more for Mom to mow her five acres. Of course, we ate at Golden Corral, despite the recommendations of the rest of us to eat at Applebees.
It's always a struggle up here because Mom favors Caleb quite a bit, and Collin gets jealous. She does the best she can to pay attention to both of them, but she can't even go to the bathroom without one of the boys looking for her.
We are gonna get ready, pack up, and go visit my cousin and her 8 week old boxer puppies. Probably leave for home at about 4. Talk to you soon!
